On Wednesday, President Obama argued that not raising taxes on certain households amounts to a “giveaway” from the government.

On Thursday, White House spokesman Jay Carney repeated and defended the term “giveaway.”

[CBS' senior White House correspondent, Bill Plante]:

“… But it’s safe to say that in the absence of a real debt deal, which of course they’d like to have, this administration couldn’t be happier that this is failing, because they will try to blame it all on Republicans going into the election year.”

Is the US Driving the World Towards World War III: Osama’s Alleged Compound. How Many SEALs Died?:

“Other than on the Veterans Today and ICH Internet sites, I have not seen any mention of the Pakistani news story.

If the White House press corps is aware of the report, no one has asked President Obama or his press spokesperson about it.

Helen Thomas was the last American reporter sufficiently brave to ask such a question, and she was exterminated by the Israel Lobby.

In America we have reached the point where anyone who tells the truth is dismissed as a “conspiracy theorist” and marginalized. Recently, a professor of nano-chemistry from the University of Copenhagen made a lecture tour of major Canadian universities explaining the research, conducted by himself and a team of physicists and engineers, that resulted in finding small particles of unreacted nano-thermite in dust samples from the wreckage of the World Trade Center towers in addition to other evidence that the professor and the research team regard as conclusive scientific proof that the towers were brought down by controlled demolition.”

Clinton & Gates Suggest Constitution No Longer Supreme

March 28, 2011 Leave a comment

Recall how confused many of us were by the Obama candidacy? Remember how we laughed at “community organizing,” “hope,” and “change?” Do you recall the promise of “fundamental transformation,” and how few of us understood what it really meant?

If we learned anything from the Obama candidacy, it’s that we ought to be on our highest guard when this president is at his most perplexing. It is a mistake to dismiss what seems nonsensical and assume there is no method to the madness.

Since American military action began against Libya, confusion has reigned among policymakers and pundits. Some have pointed out the glaring inconsistency between President Obama’s past comments and his current actions, while others stretch the limits of credulity in an attempt to reconcile the disparity.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton added to the cacophony on Sunday. She appeared alongside Secretary of Defense Robert Gates on ABC’s This Week. In response to questioning by Senior White House Correspondent Jake Tapper, Clinton provided some insight into the administration’s mindset. It suggests that, while the rest of us may be confused, this administration may not be.

During his campaign for the Presidency, in December, 2007, Barack Obama told The Boston Globe that “The President does not have power under the Constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack in a situation that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the nation.”

Earlier in 2007, then-Senator Hillary Clinton said in a speech on the Senate floor that, “If the administration believes that any — any — use of force against Iran is necessary, the President must come to Congress to seek that authority.”

Tapper asked Clinton, “Why not [go] to Congress [to authorize action against Libya]?…”

Obama Says Race a Key Component in Tea Party Protests

African-Americans have been an integral part of the White House since it was built in part by slaves. In Family of Freedom: Presidents and African Americans in the White House, veteran U.S. News White House reporter Kenneth T. Walsh traces this sometimes fraught history from its roots all the way to the Barack Obama presidency.

As he began his second year in office, Obama’s presidency was not going well. His legislation to overhaul the healthcare system was still bogged down in Congress.

The unemployment rate, which polls showed was the top concern of most Americans, remained stubbornly high at about 10 percent, and much worse in many African-American communities

Obama’s job-approval ratings had dropped markedly from the astronomical levels of his first few months to below 50 percent.

Our new Senior Vice President of News, Michael Clemente, has continued that support. Since August of 2002, the network and its top executives have given me every opportunity a journalist could hope for. I thank the network for giving me the chance to grow as a reporter and broadcaster.” He continued, “Throughout my television career, I’ve known with certainty I would someday return to my roots in print journalism.

That day has come. I will soon announce an exciting new phase of my career — one made possible in no small part by FOX News’ consistent support. It would take a lot — something near perfection — to lure me away from the best job I’ve ever had. Details to come.”UPDATE: In a separate release issued minutes later, National Journal announced they had hired Garrett as a Congressional correspondent. From the release:
