As many of you already know, I volunteer at the “National Veterans Hotline” a few nights per month.

The hotline website can be found at http://www.Veterans911.com Last night, I was on duty for close to four hours and during that time I talked to over twenty callers. 90% of the callers had something to say about the story of Marines pissing on the dead Taliban. Here are some of the comments I heard and then some of the emails I recieved since the incident of Marines pissing on Taliban.

The Ron Paul Paradox: GOP Questions His ImpactNPR ^ | Jan. 13, 2012 | David WelnaPosted on Friday, January 13, 2012 7:21:27 PM by La EnchiladitaFour years ago, Texas Rep. Ron Paul finished fifth in the New Hampshire presidential primary with just under 8 percent of the vote.On Tuesday, he got nearly 23 percent of the vote in the New Hampshire primary, finishing second to former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney in the Republican contest. That came a week after Paul’s third-place finish in the Iowa caucuses.Paul has done better than any Republican presidential contender not named Romney, and his success is part of the buzz at the Republican National Committee’s winter meeting in New Orleans, which runs through Saturday. Some are surprised by his showing. Some are happy about his success. And some are worried that Paul’s allure — he’s attracting support from outside the Republican Party by advocating everything from legalizing marijuana to immediately withdrawing U.S. forces from Afghanistan — could influence him to eventually consider a third-party bid for the White House.Excerpt Read more at npr.org …

If you are a conservative and believe in their principles, you may be upset with Newt Gingrich and Rick Perry. Their vicious attacks on Mitt Romney and capitalism have been relentless, and the fallout is just beginning. Perry has lost a top supporter in Barry Wynn who hates the anti-capitalism rhetoric. Gingrich has garnered sharp criticism from Republican heavy weights like Rush Limbaugh and Rudy Giuliani.

Author and Rolling Stone contributing editor Michael Hastings’ new book, The Operators, could cause waves for President Obama’s reelection bid — not to mention his already tenuous relationship with U.S. troops — as book excerpts reveal the president was less than enthused to be photographed with troops during a visit to Baghdad.

The following excerpt describes Obama’s visit to Baghdad and subsequent irritation at a request to take additional photos with soldiers and embassy staffers:

After the talk, out of earshot from the soldiers and diplomats, he starts to complain. He [Obama] starts to act very un-Obamalike, according to a U.S. embassy official who helped organize the trip in Baghdad.

The erosion of the Constitution and our Constitutional rights has been happening quietly for a long time. With the election of Obama in 2008, corrupt politicians, their operatives and the mainstream media just decided not to bother hiding that fact anymore.

Corrupt American politicians, the operational arm of the multinational, wealthy and networked elite, preserve the illusion of democracy for the now disenfranchised voters, while journalists, falsely proclaiming themselves as tireless defenders of liberty, then distort the news in an attempt to manipulate public opinion.

The arrogance of Washington, D.C. has not abated, but has only gotten more brazen since 1993, when Lewis H. Lapham (“A Wish for Kings”) wrote:

“The politicians dress up the deals in the language of law or policy, but they’re in the business of brokering the tax revenue, and what keeps them in office is not their talent for oratory but their skill at redistributing the national income in a way that rewards their clients, patrons, friends and campaign contributors.”

US surveillance on blogs and websites

By Julio Severo
According to Reuters, the US government begun, in June 2010, to monitor websites, blogs and including Facebook and Twitter.
This disturbing news only became headline now, but in the end of July, 2010, just one month after the US surveillance on blogs, WND, the most important conservative website, denounced that my blog was being monitored by the US government.
The Reuters story explains that blogs opposed to Islam have been blacklisted by the US government. The surveillance is being executed especially by the Department of Homeland Security.
There is no information, though, that the US government is monitoring blogs and websites advocating homosexuality and Islam.

It’s starting to look like 1948 all over again.

Mark Twain observed that while history doesn’t repeat itself, it often rhymes. The 2012 presidential campaign is now rhyming with that of 1948 in iambic trimeter – the poetic form tragedians of Ancient Greece such as Aeschylus and Sophocles used to best express portending doom.

Interviews with New Hampshire voters on Tuesday gave a glimpse into the issues that drew these newcomers to a campaign that has been trying to gain mainstream support for its message since Paul first ran for president in 1988.

Most said they were initially drawn to one element of Paul’s platform, but came to support the rest of it later.

‘Painfully, Very Slowly’

One voter, James Kelley, said he supported Paul at first because he seemed like the only candidate who was serious about cutting taxes and spending. But as he researched Paul’s platform, he found himself reconsidering his hawkish foreign-policy views.

“Before him, I was basically like, nuke the Middle East and get it over with,” Kelley said. “I started hearing what he was saying, and painfully, very slowly, I was like, yeah, actually, it makes sense.”

George Washington became President of the United States of America on April 6, 1789, when the Article II, Section 1 Presidential Voting Certificates were unsealed and the Votes were counted before Congress.

April 30: George Washington becomes the first ...

Image via Wikipedia

As President of the May 25, 1787 Constitutional Convention, Washington knew the Constitution of September 17, 1787 implemented Article IX and X of the Articles of Confederation of November 15, 1777 by creating a Senate as a Committee of States and the Office of President of the United States of America as its executive Officer. Neither the Articles of Confederation nor the Constitution of September 17, 1787 required the President of the United States of America to swear or affirm an oath to retain that Office.

On April 30, 1789, George Washington took the following oath, knowing those present at the oath taking ceremony and Office inauguration would believe it to be an oath “to support this Constitution” rather than what it was, an oath merely to take an Office of employment: “I, George Washington, do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.” “So help me God.”

At the exact moment George Washington took the oral oath to the Office of President of the United States, he transformed the Constitution of September 17, 1787 into the Constitution of the United States for as long as he held the Office of President of the United States.

Cliff Kincaid — Obama and Panetta Use Military Brass as Props

January 13, 2012 1 comment

“As President Obama stood on the podium in the Pentagon briefing room Thursday to outline the nation’s defense priorities, the military stood with him,” reported The Washington Post, as if the military brass had any other alternative than to serve as props for the President. Pentagon chief Leon Panetta, who opposed the Reagan defense buildup when he was a left-wing congressman from California, was there as well.

“For a president denounced by Republican rivals as a weak and irresponsible commander in chief, the show of military support (emphasis added) represented a political windfall for Obama as he begins campaigning in earnest for a second term,” the paper added.

Obama’s unprecedented trip to the Pentagon’s briefing room to make the announcement was significant and newsworthy, but there is no evidence that the military officials were there voluntarily in support of Obama’s defense cuts.

US preparing for every option on Iran | EUTimes.net

US Ambassador to Israel Dan Shapiro has described Iran as a regional threat, saying Washington will resort to “all necessary means” to stop Tehran’s nuclear program.

“We’ve said and I say again that all options are open … President (Barack) Obama clearly and consistently says that he will do everything and resort to all necessary means to prevent Iran from producing nuclear weapons, and he means every word,” Shapiro said in an interview with the Hebrew-language daily Ma’ariv, Xinhua reported.

The US and Israel have repeatedly threatened Tehran with the “option” of a military strike, based on the allegation that Iran’s nuclear work may consist of a covert military aspect.

They have also used this allegation as a pretext to sway the UN Security Council to impose four rounds of sanctions on Iran.

(“Such “cognitive infiltration,” Sunstein argued, should be used to enforce a U.S. government ban on “conspiracy theorizing.””)Obama czar proposed government ‘infiltrate’ social network sites

January 13, 2012 4 comments

Just prior to his appointment as President Obama’s so-called regulatory czar, Cass Sunstein wrote a lengthy academic paper suggesting the government should “infiltrate” social network websites, chat rooms and message boards.

English: Cass Sunstein Speaking at Harvard Law...

Image via Wikipedia

Such “cognitive infiltration,” Sunstein argued, should be used to enforce a U.S. government ban on “conspiracy theorizing.”

Among the beliefs Sunstein classified as a “conspiracy theory” is advocating that the theory of global warming is a deliberate fraud.

The find comes after a report of a government document indicating that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s command center routinely monitors dozens of popular websites, including Facebook, Twitter, Hulu, WikiLeaks and news sites such as the Huffington Post and Drudge Report.

Reuters reported that a “privacy compliance review” issued by DHS last November confirms that since at least June 2010, the department’s national operations center has been operating a “Social Networking/Media Capability” which involves regular monitoring of “publicly available online forums, blogs, public websites and message boards.”

The government document states that such monitoring is meant to “collect information used in providing situational awareness and establishing a common operating picture” to help manage national or international emergency events.

While the DHS may be monitoring websites for security reasons, Sunstein advocated such actions with another goal in mind.

The Iranian attack on an American military vessel will serve as a justification and a pretext for a retaliatory move by the US military against the Iranian regime. The target would not be Iran’s nuclear facilities. The US would retaliate by attacking Iran’s navy, their military installations, missile silos, airfields. The US would target Iran’s ability to retaliate, to close down the Strait of Hormuz. The US would then follow by targeting the regime itself. Elimination of Iran’s nuclear facilities? Yes. This part would turn out to be the final act, the grand finale. It might have been the major target, had the US initiated the attack. However, under this “Pearl Harbor” scenario, in which Iran had launched a “surprise” attack on the US navy, the US would have the perfect rationalization to finish them off, to put an end to this ugly game.Perry’s use of quotation marks around the word “surprise” comes across as a literary device to imply that the so-called “surprise” attack will not be a surprise at all.Of course, the Pearl Harbor attack, which provided the pretext for America’s formal entry into World War Two, was not

And because his campaign is about a cause larger than himself, it is a safe bet he will not quit this race until the last caucuses have met and the last primary has been held.

Prediction: Paul will go into the Tampa, Fla., convention with more delegates than any other candidate save the nominee of the party.

There is a gnawing fear in the GOP that Paul will quit the party when the primaries are over and run as a third-party candidate on the Libertarian or some other line in the November election.

Not going to happen. Such a decision would sunder the movement Paul has pulled together, bring about his own and his party’s certain defeat in November, and re-elect Barack Obama.

Missing the Mark — Again (Oliver North)

January 13, 2012 3 comments

WASHINGTON — Our so-called mainstream media have launched a new anti-military feeding frenzy. The furor is over a crude 39-second video showing four Marines apparently urinating on the bodies of three dead Taliban combatants. In hysteric rhetoric akin to “news reports” on the 2004 Abu Ghraib photos, hordes of print and broadcast “correspondents” rushed to describe the viral video, which surfaced Jan. 11, as evidence of an “atrocity” and “desecration” that reflects the “depravity” of our military in general and the U.S. Marines in particular. As usual, the effort to denigrate our armed forces means that the potentates of the press ignored far more important stories.

On Wednesday, before Marine Corps or U.S. officials in Afghanistan could even verify the origin or authenticity of the video, it was up on more than a dozen websites and produced an instant firestorm. Marine Commandant Gen. James Amos described what appears on the video as “not consistent with our Corps values” and ordered an immediate investigation of “every aspect of the filmed event to determine the facts.” He pledged, “Once the investigation and preliminary inquiry are complete and the facts have been determined, then the Marine Corps will take the appropriate next steps.”

That’s what should happen. But that wasn’t enough for the masters of the media. Within hours of the video’s appearing on the Internet, “reporters” launched a global race to interview any and all who were willing to express righteous outrage over “the actions of our servicemen” and thereby disparage the reputations of the millions of soldiers, sailors, airmen, guardsmen and Marines who have served honorably and courageously in more than a decade of war.
