Milwaukee County, Wisc., Sheriff David Clarke got tired of being left twisting in the wind by federal bureaucrats and announced he would no longer accept the post of assistant secretary in the Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Public Engagement.

“Sheriff Clarke is 100% committed to the success of President Trump, and believes his skills could be better utilized to promote the President’s agenda in a more aggressive role,” Clarke advisor Craig J. Peterson said in a statement. “Last Tuesday Sheriff Clarke met with President Trump and discussed other roles where the Sheriff could be of greater assistance to the President, and the Country.

The Sheriff is reviewing options inside and outside of government.”Earlier today, Clarke tweeted his continuing support for President Trump: Slow-walking the appointmentAt the end of May, some in the Trump administration apparently began slow-walking the appointment.

Days after Clarke made the DHS appointment public, a team of CNN researchers led by serial exaggerator Andrew Kaczynski conveniently accused him of plagiarism with respect to his 2013 master’s thesis on U.S. security studies for the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, Calif. The feds could have easily finalized Clarke’s appointment but they took their sweet time. You snooze, you lose.Below is a copy of the job offer sent to Clarke last month (obtained by Abby D. Phillip of the Washington Post):………………………………….
