Big Sis has slapped travel and pilots associations in the face after a meeting designed to address the burgeoning backlash surrounding naked body scanners as well as new invasive groping measures ended in nothing more than a glib Homeland Security press release that failed completely to offer any reasonable response to the national outrage against the TSA.
The DHS press release not only fails to address any of the concerns surrounding health risks posed by radiation scanners , pat downs of children that amount to sexual molestation, or the TSA’s own lackluster background checks for its employees that have allowed rapists and illegal aliens to work in airport security , it actually only reiterates that the same if not even more invasive policies will continue to be followed.

Summary of his very powerful message: to avoid giving gross offense to the Afghan public, and to prevent the appearance of an uncontrolled security state, the US military forbids use on Afghan civilians of the very practices the TSA is now making routine for civilian travelers at US airports,” explains the Atlantic’s James Fallows .
The federal government is attempting to diffuse the controversy by simply refusing to acknowledge its existence, and hoping prominent industry heads will simply drop the issue entirely. Read more…
